Week 17 Highlight Week 18 Printout

Dear beloved parents and students,

Despite the extra day of school, this week has still flown by and here's what happened:

  • In Journeys, we finished our very last lesson! It was about a family trip that took place at the Everglades, in Florida. The Everglades is an area of swamp where alligators dwell. Crocodiles, on the other hand, prefer to stay in saltwater. We learned that a house boat is literally like a mini house because it has beds, kitchen, and a bathroom. How cute!
  • In Creative Writing, my 403 class wrote their last expository writing of their choice of topic. A student wrote about Roblox, a game in which I've never heard of when I was a kid 😆Another student wrote about 'How to write homework faster' and his tip included 'writing smaller' and 'having a good brain' 😂
  • In Math, we learned to choose the most suitable type of graph (between line graph and bar graph), to represent data. A line graph is most suitable when the data involves a change over time. A bar graph is most suitable for comparing different groups and categories.
  • As for grammar and science, we've already completed all units since last week so we started making study flashcards for the final exam. You may also access the e-version of the flashcards here.
  • And of course, we went on a field trip! Even though we were trapped in the scorching heat, the students seemed to have a blast and the best part is that everyone returned to school safely with all arms and legs attached to their bodies! Woohoo! I hope you guys enjoy some of the pictures below.

That's a wrap for this week! Here is next week's printout:

I hope that all of you get plenty of rest and study hard! Also, don't forget about the solar eclipse that's happening this Sunday!
Ms. Wendy
